For Felicia Glidden lifting the lid off of unconscious images and bringing them into physical form has fueled her art making practice for some time. She mines her dreams and is interested in finding relationships that these personal, abstract images have with the physical world.
Can the visual language of the subconscious speak to a larger audience than just the dreamer? Glidden's transforms these images into physical three dimensional objects which are not easily expressed in words but rather communicated through its physicality.
Glidden’s art is rooted in her experience of living in the north woods of Minnesota. Amidst steep river valleys and the rocky shorelines of Lake Superior, she observed ever changing forces of wind and water on the landscape.
